These stylish silver, grey and gold reels are made from P3, an exclusive Shimano graphite composite that delivers Power, Precision and Performance, and is designed to handle the knocks newcomers to fishing often inflict on their gear. There are now five reels to choose from: the 1000FA which holds 247 metres of 1kg nylon monofilament, the 2500FA, which holds 183 metres of 3kg nylon monofilament, the 4000FA which holds 219 metres of 4kg nylon monofilament, and new for 2008, the larger 6000 and 10000 sizes ideal for medium saltwater work with 274 metres and 498 metres of 5kg nylon monofilament capacity respectively.

The anodised aluminium spools have a micro-click multi disc front drag, as well as a machined aluminium handle for strength and lightness, Super Stopper II, paddle shaped Septon handles and Dyna- Balance for effortless winding.
