THE FIRST EVER NATIONAL GONE FISHING DAY (GFD)

WHEN: 16th of October 2016

Australia will celebrate its first National Gone Fishing Day with thousands of Australians going fishing and plenty of events promoting recreational fishing being held across the nation. Recreational fishing is arguably Australia’s biggest leisure sporting activity and it doesn’t matter if you haven’t fished before, or you fish every day – GFD will have something for you

To celebrate, Shimano is running a photo competition on the day (Winner will be drawn 19 October 2016). To enter, follow these 4 easy steps

  1.  Register for Gone Fishing Day here
  2. Share an image of yourself, your family or your friends on social media enjoying Gone Fishing Day on Sunday 16 October 2016
  3. Use the hashtag #shimanogfd in your caption and remember to tag us in your image
  4. At least 1 person in the image must be doing the 'shaka' or 'hang loose' hand signal
